OVERVIEW
- Our staff will pick you up at any location you request, such as Lombok Airport, Lembar/Bangsal harbor, Teluk Kodek, or any main tourist objects in Mataram, Senggigi, Kuta Lombok, or the Gili Islands (Gili Trawangan, Meno, Air).
- You will be picked up by our representative staff and transferred to your hotel in Senaru.
- After the trek, you will be transferred to your next destination within Lombok island.
- Meet your trekking guide who will provide a free briefing, explain the trekking procedure, and prepare for your trip.
- If there is enough time, we’ll guide you to the Sindang Gile Waterfall and Tiu Kelep Waterfall the day before your trek starts if you arrive by 3 pm.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Senaru Village (601m) -Sembalun Village (1156m) & Sembalun Crater Rim (2639m)
- Wake up at 06:00 am and enjoy breakfast at 06:30 am then our mountain car pick up at 07:00 am depart Senaru and travel by 4WD vehicle to Sembalun.
- Arrive sembalun we medical check up and register of eRinjani ticket at the Rinjani Information Centre in Sembalun (1,156 m) before commencing our trek.
- The trail initially passes through undulating open grasslands as it winds up the mountain and after 2 hours walking from startkng point at kandang sapi reach to pos1. at Pos1 pemantauan (1,300m) rest 10-15 minute after continue journey another 40 minute to Pos 2.
- Tengengean (1.500m) Here have long breaks for enjoy your lunch with fresh fruits and soft drinks and snacks. after continue journey 1hours reach to Pos 3. Pada Balong (1.800m) 10-15 minute breaks. After continue 1 hours uphill reach to the pos 4.
- We called Cerama seribu (2000m) rest 10-20 minute and after 2 hours continue journey commence the steep climb up to the crater rim.
- We camp the night at Sembalun Crater Rim (2.639 m) with amazing views of the sunset, Lake Segara Anak, the summit of Mount Rinjani, northern Lombok and sleep under stars or milky way
Day 2: Sembalun Crater Rim (2639m) – Rinjani Summit (3726m) & Lake Segara Anak (2000m) Camp (Sleep)
- Wake at 01:30 am for a light breakfast with toast and hot ginger tea or coffee for extra energy before commencing the challenging 3-4 hours start trek at 02:00 am to the summit (3,726 m).
- We arrive in time for sunrise, the best time to enjoy the spectacular views. Return to crater rim it normally takes 2- 2,5 hours, we pause for a hot breakfast 09:00am and a rest before continue journey down to lake 3 hours and stop for lunch on the shore of Lake Segara Anak (2,000 m) where we can swiming in the lake and soak in hot springs.
- If you do not wish to attempt the summit climb. you may stay at the camp site to wait for the summiters to return for continue journey together and please request hot breakfast at the camp site early and you can have lunch here if you arrive at the camp site from the top of Rinjani at 11 or 12 o’clock.
- Returning to our campsite normally it takes 2-3 hours.
- Arrive on the crater rim we pause for a hot breakfast and a rest before continuing our descent.
- We stop at the shore of Lake Segara Anak (2,000 m) for Lunch and set up camp & sleep here.
- The afternoon can be spent swimming in the lake and soak in hot springs, fishing, exploring the lakeshore or simply relaxing.
Day 3: Segara Anak Lake (2000m) And Soak In Hot Springs & Senaru Crater Rim (2641m)
- Wake up 06:00 and breakfast 07:00, Lunch 11:30 am after we continue our trek around the shore of Lake Segara Anak before commencing our climb 3-4 hours out of the crater.
- The trail is steep and rocky and passes through dense forest.
- At the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 m) we pause and a rest.
- The crater rim offers views across the lake back toward the summit and a good vantage point of Gunung Baru, the small volcanic cone within the crater of Mount Rinjani.
- Mount Agung in Bali and the Gili Islands can also be seen from here.
- We can camp here for the night or if the wind is cold and we still feel energetic we can continue down the mountain and spend the night at a more sheltered campsite in the forest or pos 3 (2000m) we called Mondokan Lolaq.
Day 4: Senaru Camp Site (2641m) And Senaru Village (601m)
- Wake up at 06:00 am and enjoy hot breakfast at 07:00 am then after take picture and enough feel enjoy the scenery prepare belongging we go down for continue journey descent 1 hours to Pos 3, arrive at pos 3.
- Rest 10-15 minute then continue journey 1,5 hours to Pos 2, arrive at pos 2 rest 10-15 minute for water drink then after continue 40 minute to pos extra (1.165m) arrive at extra pos rest 10-15 minute then continue journey 1 hours 20 minute to Pos 1 (915m).
- Arrive at pos 1 rest or directly down 10 minute to the last pos arrive at pos stopping for a longer break for lunch.
- And from lunch place another 25 minute to the senaru the gate or ending of the rinjani adventure and along the way walking in the forest if you lucky can be see the black monkey (ebonylife) as descend the mountain the forest becomes thicker and increasingly lush.
- We arrive in Senaru (601 m) at approximately 1 pm – 2 pm from here you will be transported to your next destination within lombok.
nOTE
- If you book your trekking package with Salvin Trekking, you will be provided with an English-speaking local mountain guide and local porters who will carry the trekking equipment and cooking gear.
- However, our mountain guide and porters are only responsible for carrying trekking equipment, including tents, sleeping bags, mats, pillows, chairs, tables, toilet tents, and cooking gear.
- They are not tasked with carrying your personal belongings.
- If you require an extra porter to carry your personal belongings, they are available at an additional cost of 25 USD per porter per day.
- You can store other luggage at our office and retrieve it after the trek is completed.
What is the Temperature Like in the Mountains?
- During the day, temperatures range from 15 to 25 degrees Celsius at and below the rims at night.
- The temperature at the Rim is usually below 10 degrees Celsius. At times, it can be near freezing, especially towards the summit of Rinjani.

- Day 1: Starting point Kadang Sapi – Sembalun campsite 2639masl hiking time 7-8 hours with a distance of around 8 km.
- Day 2: Sembalun campsite 2639masl – summit Rinjani 3726masl hiking time 6 – 7 hours up and return with a distance of around 2.8 km. Sembalun campsite – Lake Segara Anak hiking time 2.5 -3 hours with a distance of around 2.5 km.
- Day 3: Lake Segara Anak 2000 masl with a lake area covering an of 1,100 ha with a depth of 230 meters – Senaru campsite. Hiking time 2.5 -3.5 hours with a distance of around 3 km.
- Day 4: Senaru campsite – Senaru Rinjani trek center official check out eRinjani ticket (Jebak Gawah/Pintu Senaru). Hiking time 4-6 hours with a distance of around 7.5 km. Senaru official register of eRinjani ticket (Jebak Gawah/Pintu Senaru) – Senaru village 601 meters above sea level. Hiking time 25 -30 minutes with a distance of around 1.5 km and by transport pick up 10 minutes.
Timings are estimated and depend on the individual trekker’s physical stamina and conditions.
