OVERVIEW
- Arrival Day in Lombok: We’ll pick you up from Bangsal port, Senggigi, the airport, or Kuta Lombok and drive you to Senaru village, where you’ll check in at the hotel.
- Day 1 – Trekking: We’ll transport you from Senaru village to the starting point in Sembalun village, and you’ll hike to Sembalun Crater rim, a 7-hour journey (camping for the first night at Sembalun Crater rim).
- Day 2 – Trekking: You’ll ascend to the summit at 3726m, explore the crater lake, visit hot springs, and trek to Senaru Crater rim, a 9-hour adventure (camping for the second night at Senaru Crater rim).
- Day 3 – Trekking: Descend from Senaru Crater rim to Senaru village, finishing at 1 pm, followed by a drive to your next destination (5 hours of walking).
ITINERARY
Day 1 - Trekking:
- Wake up at 6 am for breakfast at 6:30 am.
- Depart at 7 am to Sembalun village, where you’ll register and check your ticket.
- Start hiking with our team (Rinjani trekking guide and porter) to Pos 1 for a 2-hour walk.
- Continue to Pos 2 for lunch, Pos 3 for 3 more hours of walking, and Pos Extra for an additional hour.
- Reach Sembalun Crater rim after 3 more hours, where you’ll camp for the night, enjoying views of Mount Rinjani and the lake.
Day 2:
- Wake up at 2:30 am, have a small breakfast, and hike to the summit for a stunning sunrise view.
- Descend for 2 hours to your campsite for a hearty breakfast.
- Trek down to the lake for 2.5 hours, visit the hot spring for 30 minutes, and continue to Senaru Crater rim for 2 more hours.
- Arrive around 5 pm, enjoy the sunset, and camp for the night.
Day 3:
- Wake up at 6 am for sunrise, have breakfast, and walk down from Senaru Crater rim to Senaru village.
- Finish around 1 pm, followed by a drive to our office and then to your next destination.
nOTE
- If you book your trekking package with Salvin Trekking, you will be provided with an English-speaking local mountain guide and local porters who will carry the trekking equipment and cooking gear.
- However, our mountain guide and porters are only responsible for carrying trekking equipment, including tents, sleeping bags, mats, pillows, chairs, tables, toilet tents, and cooking gear.
- They are not tasked with carrying your personal belongings.
- If you require an extra porter to carry your personal belongings, they are available at an additional cost of 25 USD per porter per day.
- You can store other luggage at our office and retrieve it after the trek is completed.
What is the Temperature Like in the Mountains?
- During the day, temperatures range from 15 to 25 degrees Celsius at and below the rims at night.
- The temperature at the Rim is usually below 10 degrees Celsius. At times, it can be near freezing, especially towards the summit of Rinjani.
